Do I have to be a resident of the state?

It is not a requirement to be a California State resident.

How much marijuana can I legally purchase/have on my person?

Those who meet the above requirements may acquire up to an ounce of cured cannabis flower or “bud”, 16 ounces of cannabis-infused edibles in a solid state, 72 ounces in a liquid state and seven grams of cannabis concentrates.

Where can I consume cannabis?

Consumers are protected under California State law for cannabis use in a residence whereupon the owner grants approval. Cannabis products may not be consumed in view of the public. Any smoking in the state of California must take place at least 25 feet away from entrances, exits, windows that open and ventilation intakes.

Vaporizing or smoking cannabis in a private and smoking-only hotel room is legal in California State. However, in the case that the hotel you are staying in is smoke-free vaporizers, edibles and sublinguals are fantastic alternatives.

Remember, consuming cannabis is illegal under federal law. This applies to federally-owned property and within navigable waterways.

What are concentrates?

Marijuana concentrates are the end product of the extraction of oils from the cannabis plant. They’re highly potent, refined products known by many names, including wax, shatter, butter, resin, and others.

Concentrates can be inhaled by “dabbing” or vaporized using a specially designed pipe. Vaping is becoming more popular for its ease of use and discreet appearance. There are vaporizer units that can be loaded with concentrate and cartridges filled with oil that can be used with a suitable battery. What are topicals/edibles/sublinguals?

hey’re all products made using the aforementioned cannabis concentrates, but they work in different ways. Let’s go through them one-by-one.

Topicals are cannabis-infused products that are applied directly to the skin for ease sore or tired muscles. Unlike most cannabis you consume orally or through vaping or smoking, topicals have no psychoactive effects, meaning they don’t get you “high.”

Edibles are cannabis-infused products like baked goods or sodas that you can eat or drink. They generally take 30-90 minutes to take full effect. Edibles are a great option for those who want the beneficial effects of cannabis in situations where smoking or vaping wouldn’t be socially acceptable.

Everyone’s experience is different, but the standard edible serving size in Washington and Colorado includes 10mg of THC. Processors like Zoots create products as low as 2.5mg for novice consumers who aren’t looking to overindulge.

Remember: Be patient! Depending on your body chemistry, it can take up to 90 minutes to feel the full effects of an edible.

Sublinguals are cannabis-infused products that are dissolved under the tongue or consumed using a dropper. Sublinguals typically take between 20-60 minutes to activate.

Whichever method you choose, remember to consume responsibly, and start slow, by having less than you think you might want. You can always try another dose later!

How long does weed stay in your system?

That depends on many factors, such as how often you imbibe cannabis and when you last consumed it.

In urine tests, weed typically stays detectable for around 8 days after a single use, or longer if you use it more frequently.

In saliva tests, weed typically stays detectable for around 24 hours after a single use, or longer if you are a heavier user.

We often refer people to this helpful article which lays out detectability guidelines for different types of tests, as well as for different use patterns.

How do I come down from a high faster?

First step: Don’t panic; you’re going to be just fine. Start by drinking plenty of non-alcoholic liquids. Try taking a walk in a quiet park or nearby neighborhood. Warm showers are often comforting when you’re a little bit too high.

And believe it or not, the taste or even the aroma of black pepper helps counteract too much THC. Go find the nearest peppermill!

Is smoking weed healthy?

The simple answer is: Yes! In addition to being recreationally enjoyable, cannabis is a powerful medicine used to treat many different conditions.

However, there are risks involved: Smoking anything—particularly tobacco—introduces potentially carcinogenic compounds and particulates into the lungs.

And cannabis, like any drug, can be habit-forming. Some 9% of regular users develop dependence patterns. If you feel that cannabis affects your personal relationships, or that you find yourself being dishonest about your cannabis use, it’s a good time to pull over and assess your usage.
